KINGS NORTON & SOUTH BIRMINGHAM 2
COVENTRY U14's 3

We went to Kings Norton looking for our first West Midlands League win and were not disappoointed.

Coventry started brightly, playing some neat passing football, and were unfortunate to go 1-0 down after 10 minutes.
They continued in the same vein but a defensive mistake saw Kings Norton increase their lead to go 2-0 up.

Coventry continued to battle and were rewarded when a free kick from Rob Thomson produced a good save from the Kings Norton 'keeper, but Ryan Moir was on hand to follow in the rebound to make it 2-1 at half time.

The players started on the front foot in the second half and a free kick from Dane Kenny caused confusion in the home defence which resulted in a penalty after a Kings Norton player handled the ball in the box.
Rob Thomson converted the spot kick to level the score, and with 15 minutes to go a left footed 25yd strike from Mannie Hay found the top corner of the net to secure the points for Coventry.

A much improved performance from the squad and a pleasing result, particularly as we managed to come back from being 2-0 down.

It was also good to welcome back Ben Tennant and Daniel Whitehouse after their long lay
offs through injury.
