Coventry made a slow start and were second best for most of the first half, allowing Erdington to take advantage and go 1-0 ahead. They rallied just before half-time after a Ryan Caputo free kick found its way into the net .
Spurred on by Jackson Downie, Matthew Wyatt and half-time substitute Jack Tollet, Coventry dominated the opening ten minutes of the second half but failure to convert their chances proved costly when Erdington broke away from a Coventry corner to increase their lead.
Coventry had no option but to push for goals and Erdington managed to score 2 more goals on the break.
