First Half
West Midlands attacked from the outset and put the Derbyshire goal under a lot of early pressure straight from the kick off. Brisk passing from midfield and defence, and determined wing play from Adam Robertson and Zack Foster created many goalscoring opportunities. On top of this West Midlands gained several corners, and the delivery into the box from Will Worthington in particular was superb. The Derbyshire defence also had Aaden Snaiths long throw ins to contend with.

The first chance fell to Declan Attenbarrow who could not turn in a great low driven cross from Adam Robertson from close range. The usual combination of Malachi Farquarson getting his head to a Will Worthington corner saw the ball rebound off the Derbyshire post.

Zack Foster had the beating of his full back and went past him to shoot just wide across the goal. Soon afterwards a James Spray effort on the turn was pushed over by the overworked Derbyshire goalkeeper. Malachi Farquarson had a powerful shot from distance, before another great cross from Adam Robertson found the head of James Spray who saw the keeper make another save.

All these chances and the game remained goalless. Tom Bryce was called upon to make a couple of good saves as the Derbyshire side made a few break away attempts on our goal. The last chance of the half fell to Zack Foster who received a great ball driven across the penalty area from James Spary but he had one too many touches and he saw his effort blocked.

Half Time 0-0

Second Half
The deadlock was broken 8 minutes into the second half when Malachi Farquarson jinked his way into the left of the penalty area before driving a right foot shot low into the net.

Malachi Farquarson had another good run that took him past a defender and a shot that was well saved after he had been sent clear by Declan Attenbarrow.

Aaron Forde linked up with James Spray who turned and shot only to see the keeper make another great save. Jake Holt playing his first game at this level had a good chance but his effort went just wide.

Aaron Forde saw another driven effort go wide of the far post following some good interplay between Jake Holt and James Spray.

Malachi Farquarson made the game relatively safe with the second goal coming from a header from a tremendous corner from Will Worthington.

With the game won good build up play involving Cameron Burns and Aaron Forde, found James Spray in space to turn and score with a low shot into the corner of the Derby net.

An excellent performance maintains this squad’s 100% winning record.
